Drew

Drew is with no doubt, the absolute bane of my existence right now. I'm trying to get their story out there, after like several years of this idiot floating around my brain and multiple rewrites and attempts at telling their story. But I finally think I'm ready. They're a mha oc turned original character, who I'm gonna use in a world I still need to work out further. And that when the premise of the character kinda revolved around them being in the mha universe. Regardless I'm making it work.

Appearance

Drew is by no means conventional in appearance, they're a shapeshifter. They take advantage of their abilities to look as genderfuck as possible. Wings, elf ears, plants or flowers in their hair, glowing freckles, horns, antlers, feathers, you name it they likely have tried to style it at least once. Their personal style mostly stays in the gothic/emo range, but as they get more comfortable with themselves softer colours also appear in their wardrobe.

Their natural form is nonexistent. The most natural you'll ever see them is when they're asleep and even then they're still subconsciously shapeshifting, call that trauma. Anyways. I would caution for people with adhd, because their skin is severely distracting. Colours swirl all over it, mixing and changing. It's almost like looking into a colourful vortex and if you don't watch out you can get mesmerized for hours.

Another interesting facet of Drew's appearance is their eyes. Everybody sees them differently. It's an aspect they seem to be unique in so far. No other shapeshifter has ever displayed such a trait. And let's be fair here, this would not take long to notice. If only for the fights that would break out over it. Drew's own theory is that it displays the colour that's the most soothing to the person looking at them. Something that makes others trust them more easily. The only exception to this rule is themselves, since they see the colour of all the blood they shed over the years.

Personality

Drew used to be a very guarded person, solely interested in protecting their younger brother Rai. They were severely depressed, to the point they only kept living to ensure Rai got a better life than they did. This all eventually came to a head when Rai no longer needed their protection. With their sole reason to keep living gone they tried to take their own life. Before this attempt they were paranoid, traumatized, scared, bitter, cynical and depressed. They truly didn't care about anything. It was school (when they felt like it), work, providing for Rai, protecting Rai, sleep, repeat.

They did heal. It took a long time. They were scared a lot and still quite paranoid, especially about people's motivations. But in the end they became better. They turned out to be really smart, analytical and curious. They were witty and fun and definitely a bit chaotic. They will always carry some of the pain however, but they gained the resilience to not let it get the upperhand anymore.
